French & Michigan is founded in the research of art and design. As a hybrid, French & Michigan works to foster collaboration between disciplines and redefine departmental practices through language and placemaking.
French & Michigan has two branches: F&M Projects, a nonprofit arts organization, and F&M Workshop, a design and fabrication practice.
A set of French & Michigan's first four catalogues, published in conjunction with the exhibitions Shannon Crider: The Ballad of Polynices; Sarah Sudhoff: Supply and Demand, Lisa Qualls: A Collection of Silence, and Cornelia White Swann: Fugitive Color. Proceeds from the purchase of these catalogues support the newly developed nonprofit organization F&M Projects and its current educational mission.
