French & Michigan is founded in the research of art and design. As a hybrid, French & Michigan works to foster collaboration between disciplines and redefine departmental practices through language and placemaking.

French & Michigan has two branches: F&M Projects, a nonprofit arts organization, and F&M Workshop, a design and fabrication practice.

Grand Opening

September 26, 2013

In 2013, French & Michigan launched the grand opening of French & Michigan Gallery. The opening presented work by F&M Gallery's first set of represented artists from San Antonio, Austin, and Houston, ranging between emerging and mid career.

The exhibition included collage, mixed media, paintings, photography, and prints by artists Shannon Crider, Larry Graeber, Jaelah Kuehmichel, Lané Pittard, Lisa Qualls, John Swanger, Cornelia White Swann, Kristina VandeWalle, and Sandy Whitby.
