Fabrication

F&M Workshop designs and produces custom fabrications including cabinetry, doors, hardware, and tables for residential and commercial spaces. Working primarily in wood, steel, and brass, F&M Workshop collaborates with clients on the design and production of custom work. Current clients include the City of San Antonio Department of Arts & Culture and TradeCraft.

In addition, F&M Workshop develops collections derived from its own design challenges and ideas. This began with the Bolero Series.

About the Bolero Series

The Bolero Series of benches and stools was designed for daily use in the gallery and workshop. The light weight frame is composed of 3/8 inch hand-bent steel. The bending technique provides a visually light aesthetic yet sturdy structural carriage that clasps the antique lumber slab to provide a solid warm sitting surface.

While many clients enjoy the simplistic form of the metal and wood, a request for alternate legs allowed the Bolero series to evolve with handsome wood legs attached with a fixed 1/4 inch steel cross bracing and brackets.

The Bolero Series can be enjoyed locally at the City of San Antonio's Department for Culture and Creative Development in their main exhibition space at 115 Plaza de Armas. The Bolero Series is available for purchase through French & Michigan and in Sloan/Hall stores in San Antonio and Houston.
