French & Michigan is founded in the research of art and design. As a hybrid, French & Michigan works to foster collaboration between disciplines and redefine departmental practices through language and placemaking.
French & Michigan has two branches: F&M Projects, a nonprofit arts organization, and F&M Workshop, a design and fabrication practice.
Our landscape philosophy arises from a goal of elevating the use and enjoyment of a functional outdoor experience. Landscapes result from a dialogue between client and designers, and are realized through the use of native plants and locally sourced materials.
